postheadericon The Law of Attraction – One of the 11 Forgotten Laws

Joseph Rettig asked:

There’s been a lot of buzz on the Internet recently about Bob Proctor and Mary Morrissey’s “11 Forgotten Laws”, a complete, thorough Law of Attraction course designed to complement “The Secret,” and pick up where “The Secret” left off. Of course, one of these Forgotten Laws is the Law of Attraction (but the key is, it’s just one of the laws).

Bob Proctor says of the Law of Attraction, “I don’t think this one needs much explaining. The more you have, the more you get. The more you attract, the greater the number of things you can attract to yourself.”

This is the validation of the Christian gospel truth, “The more you have, the more that shall be added. But for him who has not, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him.” Now, many people have twisted the meaning of this truth. They have believed that this was Jesus Christ’s way of criticizing the wealthy people of the world, and they have turned it into some kind of class warfare, the “haves” vs. the “have-nots”.

The truth is a far cry from this silly and unproductive class warfare thing. What is meant is, when you energize your own magnet to attract to you what you want in your life, as you keep on doing that you start to gather more materials that you can use to further attract still more materials. It also means that as you continue to practice with the Law of Attraction, the more adept you become, and the more advanced you become with your powers of attraction. So what you have already done gets added to. You are not taking away from others, you are adding more to your life from out of the virtually infinite Universal supply which is available to all people.

Now what about poor “him who has not”? Well, that poor guy “has not” because, for one reason or another, he has not chosen to work with the universal Law of Attraction in his life. He has either ignored its existence or he has resisted it. He is paying the price for his own “sins”. You see, the gospel saying was not one of idealism or political pogrom. It was merely a statement of natural, cosmic law. It was just like saying, “The Sun rises in the east and sets in the west.” It was an objective (albeit very important) observation, nothing more.

Nobody is keeping “him who has not” down. Nobody but himself. Yes, there might be a lot of work he has to do. Yes, other people might be hostile toward him. Yes, he might have to contend with wicked government forces who are, in fact, trying to take from him “even what he thinks he has”. But that is not what that statement is referring to. It is referring to the fact that he has not built up his life and life force in ways that enable him to attract what he needs and desires. That’s why he only THINKS he has some things–they are so easily lost or taken away that he cannot be secure even with them, for he has done nothing to use the Law of Attraction to secure them or secure more like them.

Emulate those who gather more and more to themselves. Don’t be a “poor, poor, pitiful me” type of person.

postheadericon Manifesting Tips – Using the Law of Attraction

Bryan Appleton asked:

Using the law of attraction can seem a bit tricky at first as a lot of the principles and the methods to use the law of attraction are counter to what it is that we have been taught and what we think we know about how things work.

postheadericon 4 Law of Attraction Myths

Megan Jenifer asked:

If you look very closely in your life and in the lives of others, you can see the Law of Attraction working every time to bring situations both desirable and undesirable in a person’s life. And people who are exposed to the Law of Attraction for the first time, with it feeling like it’s challenging their beliefs have a difficult time looking at it for what it is. As we always do, we filter information through our lenses and interpret things differently.

In this article, I want to offer four common misconceptions or better yet, incomplete assumptions about what the Law of Attraction is and what it involves.

Myth #1: The Law of Attraction is not a law.

I’ve read several blog posts and comments other places that give a compelling argument for why this may appear true in a person’s eyes. OK, maybe it’s not a defined law in science or in politics, but it is definitely something that is always working and cannot be circumvented. It exists as a neutral force that is activated according to thoughts and feelings. In the movie, The Secret, Bob Proctor gives a great example of this. He says in relation to the Law of Attraction, “you may not understand how it works.” He goes on to talk about how most people know about electricity and says that most people don’t know how it works either. However, one profound thing he said was the following: “I do know one thing. You can cook a man’s dinner with electricity, and you can also cook the man.” In other words, the Law of Attraction is the same way. You can work with it consciously, or you can work with it unconsciously and still get results that may or may not be desirable.

Myth #2: The Law of Attraction is all about choices.

This is only partially true. Yes, in everything you do have choices, but the Law of Attraction is activated also with subconscious thinking. It weighs more heavily on beliefs more so than choices. You can make a choice today to stop eating fast food, but if your beliefs don’t coincide with that choice, then its going to be pretty rough to manifest less fast food eating. In most instances, it may actually trigger cravings for more fast food. Until your subconscious and conscious are aligned, then the Law of Attraction will only respond to what you think and feel the most. This is also an explanation for why it is so import to get clear.

Myth #3: Feelings are just feelings. They don’t matter.

This is a big one. Feelings are indicators of whether or not you are in sync with what you say you desire. Abraham-Hicks speaks about the infinite supply of well-being that flows, and that each one of us are either tapped into it or not. It never stops flowing. Since we are aware that well-being is our natural state, our emotions serve as a gift to let us know how distant we are from our True Selves. What’s even more important is that emotions are energy in motion. They are somewhat of the “fuel” behind our conscious and unconscious beliefs. Remember I stated earlier that the Law of Attraction responds to what you think and feel the most. Feelings of need beget more lack, and conversely, feelings of gratitude beget more abundance. Therefore, feelings are critically important when it comes to activating the Law of Attraction. It’s paramount to begin paying attention to them and consciously choosing better feelings to help close the gap.

Myth #4: The Law of Attraction only works if you take action.

There are a lot of products being marketed that claim they have the piece that was left out of The Secret. One of the claims is the “action” component. In the movie, one of the steps was “Receive,” and in this section, this is where action is required to facilitate the delivery of the manifested physical result. But here’s the rub with this one. Some people get so caught up in the “doing” (being busy) and not “allowing” or being clear to move by inspiration, that they wind up working themselves into a frenzy and still may not get the desired result due to whether or not their beliefs and emotions were aligned with their actions. The type of action that should take place should be inspired action. When you are a “vibrational match” with your desire and you are clear and aware enough to be able to pick up on intuitive hunches or nudges, that’s when the action should take place, not just because some one told you have to work yourself to the bone. Grant it, as long as your beliefs and emotions are in alignment with the work that you’re doing (and it may seem like it’s a lot, which many people classify as “hard work”), you’ll see pleasant results. I just want to make sure the difference is clear in that the action that usually yields a quicker, resistance-less, pleasurable result, is action taken based on inspiration.

Once again, this is my perspective. I’d like to hear your perception regarding what you have seen, heard or read about the Law of Attraction and how it has been evidenced in your life. Where do these “myths” stand with you?

postheadericon Quantum Mechanics Law of Attraction

Joseph Rettig asked:

Science is fast coming to understand what many people already knew: the Law of Attraction works! Quantum Physics is unlocking a new realm of energetic or spiritual understanding and this is profound cosmic news. Some of the best scientific minds of today recognize that manifesting one’s desires through the application of universal laws is not hocus-pocus. The Quantum Mechanics Law of Attraction is based on scientific principles that can be measured. This gives you something to hang your faith on (if you had any doubts).

The Law of Attraction is at work constantly whether you are deliberately applying it or not. We all send out vibrations that attract a similar vibration back into our life. Our Beliefs , thoughts, words and emotions combine to magnetize us to certain types of people, situations and events. If we are experiencing things in our lives that we really don’t want, we need to take a close look at our internal lives. You can be a kind, caring and loving person but if you have had traumatic relationships and still feel a lot of emotional pain about them or have been conditioned to distrust the opposite sex your focus can attract more pain into your life. At the very least, it can block the manifestation of new, positive relationships. On the other hand, you probably know people who are insensitive or selfish but who have a very healthy attitude towards themselves. They feel that they deserve the best and they maintain a positive frame of mind. Consequently, the Quantum Mechanics Law of Attraction works to attract the things they desire into their lives. If you have had a rough time and you haven’t been able to get over it, this can seem grossly unfair. The thing to remember about the Law of Attraction is that it is not personal. It is a universal law that is immutable and inviolable but it applies to everyone equally. Knowing this can be very empowering.

By understanding how the Quantum Physics Law of Attraction works you can make the necessary changes in your life to attract what you do want rather than what you don’t want. If your thoughts about what you deserve or are capable of are generally negative, then your first step is to reprogram your mind with positive expectations. For example, there is no point trying to attract a better job into your life when your underlying belief is “no one will ever employ me.” No amount of Positive Affirmations, visualization or any other method of attracting your desires can counter your real subconscious Beliefs if they conflict with your conscious intentions. You can get a good idea about what you really think and believe by paying attention to the things you say to yourself on a regular basis. Don’t judge yourself, just pay attention and write down things you tell yourself repeatedly. You will probably be shocked at how negative you actually are. We get stuck in patterns that we can’t break out of and usually do not realize that our Beliefs, thoughts and emotions are to blame.

Once you have identified the negative Beliefs you need to overcome, write their opposites down and begin to reprogram your mind by stating your desired positive Beliefs as affirmations. Experts recommend that fifteen minutes a day can effectively reprogram your mind. You’ll know when you can stop because you will no longer be speaking to yourself negatively. You will also notice that your new, positive Beliefs are attracting new experiences and opportunities into your life.

Once you no longer have to deal with the baggage of negative thinking, you can directly apply the Quantum Mechanics Law of Attraction to manifest your desires. You need to ask yourself what you really want and be specific. The more specific you are, the more likely you will be to manifest your desires. Once you have identified what you want and have written it down in a very specific way, imagine how you will feel when you have obtained it. Don’t just visualize possessing it. Imagine already having it and let yourself feel the gratitude, joy, excitement or whatever emotions you are likely to feel under those circumstances. Once you have done these two steps, start taking action towards your goals. If you move towards them, the universe will move towards you and manifestation will be easy. You’ll be surprised at how quickly life can change.

postheadericon The Law of Attraction Explained in Simple Steps

Marc De Bruin asked:

Okay, some people have asked me to explain the Law of Attraction in the simplest possible terms, so they can understand it more clearly. Cool, that’s easy. Here we go.

Everything around us vibrates; every piece of existence is a form of (electro-magnetic) energy. That is not just me saying so, it is a scientific fact. Go and watch the film “What the Bleep” if you would like to know more about this.

Out of this huge mass of energy matter is formed through specific arrangement, rate of vibration and density of the energy particles in the mass. For instance, arrange the particles in a certain way and within a certain distance, and you may get water. Arranged a different way and with different density, steam emerges. Arrange the particles differently again, and ice is created.

Now for all matter counts that it is made up of the same “stuff”. Everything consists of cells, molecules, atoms and subatomic particles like protons, neutrons and the like; the arrangement, rate of vibration and density makes the difference between you and -let’s say- a tree! That’s why we speak of the quantum soup; this is the “form behind the form”, the basis of whatever we can experience AS form.

Some people refer to the quantum soup as a “field of potentiality” or “waves of probability”; it all boils down to the same thing: There is this substance that lies at the basis of all creation of matter.

How does the Law of Attraction fit in all this? Well, you have to keep what I wrote above in the back of your mind, and then read on.

The Law of Attraction states that what you consistently think about and have emotions about is what is going to come about. The emotions could be good or bad ones; Law of Attraction doesn’t care. If you want something really badly (funny word, but there you go) and feel really good about it, you will most likely get it. On the other hand, if you do not want something at all, and feel bad about the prospect of having it, you will probably get it, too! Law of Attraction is all-inclusive.

Whatever is most prominent in your awareness is most likely the actual thing you are going to attract. The way that this happens is through focused thought and through feeling.

Thought is a form of energy, just like anything else. If you have a thought, you make an impression -literally- on the quantum soup, by which the object of your thought is turning into a reality. Keep that thought up long enough, and the object becomes “physical”, a form. Liken it to an architect. He comes up with the focused thought of a new building. He puts that thought, if he is focused enough on it, onto paper in a drawing. That drawing then will be handed down to the authorities who give the green light, after which the builders will create the actual building. From thought to focused thought and then to realisation.

Your feelings will tell you what you are attracting. If you are thinking and feeling good, you will be attracting the good stuff. If you are thinking and feeling bad, you will be attracting the bad stuff; it is as simple as that.

The Law of Attraction operates under these three simple premises:

You ask. Now that’s easy! Just put out a desire; what is it you want to be, do and have? How are you going to feel once you have it? It is given. Always! And that is a scientific truth. Whatever thought you impress on the quantum soup, it starts to literally take shape. It cannot do anything else but that. It is law. Allow and Expect the result to come to you. This is where it can get tricky for many people. I’ll explain. Our feelings play a major role in the allowing part. In how far do we believe, and do we expect the result of our desire to show up in our lives? If we start off enthusiastically but then lose faith because we don’t get the result soon enough, we’re not allowing. If we want something badly, but believe we don’t deserve that, we are not allowing. If we desire something because we feel our lives will be a mess without it, we are not allowing. See it like this: if you are feel good about what you want, you are drawing it in to your experience for sure. If, on the other hand, you feel bad about still not having what you want, you are pushing your desire away.

Our feelings will ALWAYS tell us what we are attracting. They are our inbuilt GPS.

Allowing is the state where you have the feeling of faith and expectancy about what it is that you want. You trust that you will get it; you don’t worry about it. You are not attached to the outcome.

The state of allowing can be learned. It just takes a bit of effort and consistency, after which it will become part of your overall make-up. That is an exciting event!

When you start to consciously master the rules of creation, your life will become quite different; for the better, I may add. Not only will you create more of the things you want, you will also be better equipped to deal with situations you do not like. You will become an all-rounder in terms of creation, and will have a life of purpose, joy and fulfilment.

It can be done. And I can show you how. You are worth it. Start living your truth Now! And let me cheer for you from the side line!

postheadericon The Law of Attraction is Not of This Time

Marc De Bruin asked:

The Law of Attraction is slowly working its way up to becoming the buzz cry for the new millennium. Most people have heard something about it, and some people have heard most about it. Commercialised by -excellent- films like “The Secret”, humanity suddenly seems to be waking up to the concept of “like attracts like”. Not everybody knows how it works, but the concept sounds great: put your thoughts and feelings on something, and that something is bound to come to you! Simple as that. Pretty cool!

Let me start by saying that this concept is not new at all. It has been utilised for as long as life has been existent on earth (which is quite some time now). As the Law of Attraction is a universal law, it has been around since creation started, whenever that was.

Liken it to the Law of Gravity. We did not “discover” gravity somewhere in human development and went “a ha!”. No, gravity has always been part of our environment. By recognising and acknowledging its existence have we been able to make use of it to our benefit, and have we turned it into a tool instead of it being merely a fact of life. For instance, only after recognising the existence of gravity have we been able to create electrical energy by propelling water through turbine engines in hydro-electric power stations. This is a simple example, but you catch my drift: you can’t use a force purposely unless you recognise that force.

Even the Bible talks about the law of attraction on numerous occasions, at least that is how I choose to see it. Read this:

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened. Matthew 7:1-12

To me, it is quite clear that a reference is being made to the Law of Attraction, although the term hadn’t been coined yet, then.

James Allen was talking about the Law of Attraction in the late 1800′s in “As a Man Thinketh”. Wallace Wattles spoke about it in 1910 in “The Science of Getting Rich”. Napoleon Hill wrote about it in 1938 in “Think and Grow Rich”. Jane Roberts did so in the 1970′s with the “Seth”-books, and Esther and Jerry Hicks in the 1980′s with the “Abraham”-material.

There is nothing new under the sun. There couldn’t be, because the Law of Attraction is as old as our universe is.

What IS new, is the increase of “vibration” among humanity. There are more people latching on to the concept of “conscious creation”. I sense that it has to do with ongoing evolution in general, but more specifically with an increasingly deep desire among humanity to find answers, to know thyself a bit more. Because we are slowly getting to a point where the old paradigms don’t always work well anymore, we are looking for new ones, ones that give us more effective and honouring results. And by the Law of Attraction those new paradigms show up….in the form of the Law of Attraction!

In coming articles, I will expand on the Law of Attraction, and will give my opinion on the question “if we apply this Law, do we always get what we want?”.

Right now, I’d like to encourage you to start looking around in your life. Very closely. If it is true that the Law of Attraction is universal and always working (which I am convinced it is) then your current situation is a result of -most likely subconscious- application of this Law. Your life right now, whether good or bad, is the effect of your cause, if you understand what I am saying. It is time to start taking responsibility for what is going on in your life. You are responsible for the good stuff, you are responsible for the bad stuff. And I am not talking about responsibility in an “it is your fault” way. I am talking about taking ownership over your life’s circumstances.

If you can acknowledge that your life is the way it is because you have either created it yourself -knowingly or not knowingly-, or have at least allowed it into your life -knowingly or not knowingly, then you also hold the key to transformation. That is the secret. The Law of Attraction is not the secret. It has always been there, so how could it be!?

Start counting your blessings, and forgive yourself for thought-mistakes. That will automatically increase your vibration, by which you will attract more of the “good stuff” in your life.

It is time.

postheadericon The Law of Attraction – Make the Past Disappear

Mike Bond asked:

I think without a doubt that the most valuable asset the Law of Attraction provides is a change in your own outlook.

If, up to now, you’ve always been basically unhappy, your life following a path of one expected failure after another, then something must change.

Let’s not become too carried away by the Law of Attraction. Make no mistake. It works. But to think that just because you practice it diligently and start to see changes in you and indeed your way of life, doesn’t mean that there won’t still be bumps along the way. You’ll still make mistakes, you’ll still fail.

This isn’t really the point, though. It’s how you handle your mistakes and failures that matters. If, like the example I cited at the beginning, you used always to fail because you expected to fail, then changing this way of thinking to the point where you expect success, then your failure rate will be very much diminished.

This is why I keep harping on the necessity of writing down your goals, having given them a great deal of thought beforehand. You see, what you’re really doing is to change you, yourself. That film, The Secret, gave entirely the wrong impression of the Law of Attraction. It said, in effect, lie back, think about what you want, and magically the Universe will supply your needs.

In a recent article, if you remember, we gave the example of someone writing a book. Now I certainly didn’t give the impression that simply thinking about writing a book would be all that was necessary to produce it. Good grief, I hope I didn’t give that impression. Writing a book is very hard work indeed. What the Law of Attraction does is give you the tools within yourself that turn wishes into action.

The Law will only work properly if you really want something more than anything else in the world. If you think to yourself; ‘I don’t know. It might be rather fun to learn Latin.’ ‘Rather fun’ won’t cut it. It has to be a burning desire. Here again we see where people fail. The fire isn’t there.

My own feeling is that the Law comes in two stages. First of all, there must be a change in attitude. Then you concentrate on what you need. A new car, new house, new this, new that, simply won’t happen in isolation. You must go to the root of your desire. Change yourself first.

From a lifetime of pessimistic negativism, turn it all around by running a film through your head where you’re upbeat, optimistic and successful. As I’ve said, this isn’t magic. And forget all about quantum physics and magnetic attractions. It’s a question of re-training your subconscious mind.

The other day, we discussed the past and the future. I suggested then that there can’t, strictly speaking, be a temporal present or we’d all shoot off into outer space, because time would have to stand still. Now we know there’s a past, but it’s so necessary to forget it, unless there are very sweet and pleasant memories you can evoke.

But if someone’s wronged you, or your parents were distant and aloof with you. If your schooldays were a hell on earth, all that’s gone. Forget it. Until you do so, then your existence will be one of misery and unhappiness. After all, you can’t change the past by reliving it, and reliving it’s the last thing you should do.

Let go of all the bad baggage and don’t worry about tomorrow, apart from your affirmations and visualizations of happiness, optimism and success

postheadericon Manifest Your Desires With the Law of Attraction

Bryan Appleton asked:

If you have heard about the law of attraction, then you may be curious as to what really is the true story behind the Secret. After all, what you have learned your entire life probably goes against what the law of attraction principles state. Most people will have a hard time believing that they can manifest desires that they have simply by learning how to re-direct their mind to what it is that they want to attract.

Some people seem to get the wrong idea or impression of what the law of attraction really is. They believe that they can use their thought power ALONE to manifest the things that they desire and this is more wishful or fantasy thinking than reality. After all, just take a careful study of people that really have manifested desires that they have and see if they just simply sat back and thought about it. It’s not going to happen.

To really use the law of attraction, you have to get past this idea of “magic” or that you can manifest with your mind power alone. There is nothing wrong with using meditations and any other new age practices to set your mind at ease and build your focus. These are all necessary to really use the law of attraction to manifest desires that you may have. However, there is much more that you need to do.

You have to take action. If you are not willing to get up and go and act on your ideas and inspirations, then you really are not ready to use the law of attraction to manifest. If you want to manifest money, then you have to take actions that produce money. And if you want to manifest love, then you have to take steps to attract love into your life.

Would you like to learn how to really manifest your desires with the universal law of attraction?

postheadericon Law of Attraction Myths Debunked

Jennifer Shepherd asked:

If you’re anything like me, sometimes when you’re working with affirmations, positive thinking and the law of attraction you can wonder: “How soon will this work?”

This is especially true when you’re stuck and feeling like things will never budge.

We all have our “problem areas.” These might be money, relationships, health, or some combination of the above.

This is usually because we have what I call a “psychic deficit” in that area of our lives. We’ve come to expect problems in that area and have deeply held beliefs that are negative.

Why do those negative expectations take root in the first place? Because we’re psychic sponges who basically soak up all the “data” that is floating around us.

If you were raised in an atmosphere where money was a problem, you’re going to have some negative expectations around money to overcome.

If you grew up around people who were very dysfunctional and uncaring, you’ll have to do some work on releasing negative beliefs about receiving love and affection.

If you spent a lot of time around people who were physically ill or who were hypochondriacs – always worrying about health – you will have unconsciously picked up some of those same negative beliefs around your own health. So you’ll have to discharge some of that build up of negative expectations around your health if your desire is to improve your health.

I’ll be honest with you. It can take time – even years – to release negative beliefs in some of these “problem areas.”

But the good news about affirmations and the law of attraction is that you can start seeing great results very quickly in areas that aren’t your problem zones. If you have no build up of negative beliefs around something, you’ll manifest wonderful stuff in that area quickly. So start working with some smaller, simpler goals and you’ll soon be encouraged by how quickly great things manifest. This will give you encouragement and motivation as you start to tackle the harder stuff.

The less resistance you have around receiving positive things and events, the more you’ll have success in using the law of attraction to manifest what you want quickly.

So I encourage you to dig a little bit, to be honest with yourself about negative beliefs that are deeply entrenched so you can become more aware of them. By shining a light on them and seeing them clearly you’ll know what you need to start working on. And if you are persistent with tools like affirmations and visualizations, you will see positive results over time.

And in the meantime, start experimenting with the law of attraction for smaller, simpler things. You’ll be amazed at how powerful you are at creating your own reality. Then it will be much less daunting as you start working on “bigger” projects.

And don’t forget – have fun with it! The more you can be in a state of joy and excitement, the faster your intentions will manifest on the physical plane.
