So, here we have the Bible instructing us to think about things that are positive. However, this particular verse doesn’t say why. Let’s see if we can find any passages that give us a clue as to why we should think about positive things.
THE EFFECTS OF THOUGHT
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7
The above verse from Proverbs shows that our thoughts create who we become. As we think, so we are. If our thoughts have that much impact on our lives, then we better give some attention to them. But, how do we know what our thoughts are? Thought happens on such a subconscious level that we’re often not even aware of it. So, how do we know if we are thinking about good things?
WHAT WE THINK IS HOW WE SPEAK
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. Luke 6:35
A true test of what our predominant thoughts are is to listen to the way we talk. Whatever is in your heart (your thoughts), will come out of your mouth. The scriptures have a lot to say about our tongues and the need to tame them.
SPEECH DIRECTS OUR LIVES
For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. James 3:2-4
Again, this scripture is showing the relationship between our words and the direction our lives take. They are connected in a way that cannot be undone. We cannot speak carelessly and think it won’t have a profound effect on our lives. Because, what we speak is what we think. And what we speak is the direction our lives will take.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith Mark 11:23
The above scripture clinches it all for me. It shows a clear relationship between what we say, what we believe in our heart (our thoughts) and what will occur in our lives. If we say positive things while at the same time truly believing they will come to pass — then they will.
THOUGHTS ARE SEEDS WE SOW
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:7-9
Whatever we sow, we can expect to reap. This is true in natural things, as well. If we plant a watermelon seed, we expect a watermelon to grow, right? We don’t expect a pumpkin to grow. Why would it be any different with our thoughts? If we sow positive thoughts, we can expect to reap positive things. If we sow negative thoughts, we should expect to reap negative things. But, this suggests that our thoughts are seeds. Does the scripture support this? Yes, it does:
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. I Peter 1:13
Obviously, the loins are the place of creation — the source for seed. So, when Peter is encouraging the early church to “gird up the loins of your mind,” he’s telling them to protect their thoughts — to remain sober and full of hope.
CONCLUSION
These teachings certainly support what the Law of Attraction says, so there does not appear to be any conflict between the principles of the Law of Attraction and the principles of the Bible. As has happened in the past, people can take these principles and try to mold them into something to suit themselves, rather than what God has for their lives. So you are doing everything that you have read about in applying the Law of Attraction. You’re focusing on your wants and trying not to get upset with your everyday circumstances that just happen. You’re looking for every sign of encouragement that the Universe sends your way. You’re being as patient as you can and you’re visualizing ’til the cows come home. You’re mentally exhausted from watching every thought and feeling that you come across. Now what?
Many people actually feel this way. They try so hard to apply the Law of Attraction and that is actually the problem. They are trying too hard.
The Law of Attraction is really a simple law but being human, we tend to complicate things.
You want to “just be” when using the Law of Attraction intentionally. Get a clear image in your head of what you desire. Create this image as if you are the architect planning a new home construction. Be excited about it and get as focused as possible. Every evening take some time to yourself where you can really focus on your image. Imagine having your desire, imagine what you are wearing, imagine it is happening right now, imagine going through the physical steps of the image, and then… let it go and just be. Putting all that strong feeling intention into your desire has started the motor running. The Universe has a good idea of what you want.
When you wake up in the morning and you have the time, you should focus again upon your desire. But even if you don’t have time for a second round think only of your desire with excitement when you do think of it.
If you begin to think how you don’t have your desire, you are focusing on your ‘don’t want’ and that will bring you what you don’t want. All through the day, when the thought of your desire comes to mind, think of it in the now and with happiness and joy that it is manifesting, and then let go and just be. Just by having one visualization session a day, your desire will come to you as long as you don’t put any negative toward it. If you are feeling down and you think of your desire, you are sabotaging its arrival. Only think of your desire with joy.
You don’t have to watch every little thought that pops into your head in order for your desire to come to you. Just enjoying your day and expressing gratitude about life will do wonders. Trying too hard and watching every thought is actually attracting situations of control and of trying too hard.
Let the impatience go and let the Universe do its job. Just relax and enjoy life knowing full well the Universe is handling all that needs to be handled in order for you to have what you desire. Your job is to visualize and just be and the Universe’s job is to take care of the how. Let go of the control and micro managing and let the Universe do its job through the Law of Attraction.

So you are doing everything that you have read about in applying the Law of Attraction. You’re focusing on your wants and trying not to get upset with your everyday circumstances that just happen. You’re looking for every sign of encouragement that the Universe sends your way. You’re being as patient as you can and you’re visualizing ’til the cows come home. You’re mentally exhausted from watching every thought and feeling that you come across. Now what?
Many people actually feel this way. They try so hard to apply the Law of Attraction and that is actually the problem. They are trying too hard.
The Law of Attraction is really a simple law but being human, we tend to complicate things.
You want to “just be” when using the Law of Attraction intentionally. Get a clear image in your head of what you desire. Create this image as if you are the architect planning a new home construction. Be excited about it and get as focused as possible. Every evening take some time to yourself where you can really focus on your image. Imagine having your desire, imagine what you are wearing, imagine it is happening right now, imagine going through the physical steps of the image, and then… let it go and just be. Putting all that strong feeling intention into your desire has started the motor running. The Universe has a good idea of what you want.
When you wake up in the morning and you have the time, you should focus again upon your desire. But even if you don’t have time for a second round think only of your desire with excitement when you do think of it.
If you begin to think how you don’t have your desire, you are focusing on your ‘don’t want’ and that will bring you what you don’t want. All through the day, when the thought of your desire comes to mind, think of it in the now and with happiness and joy that it is manifesting, and then let go and just be. Unless you are in perfect harmony and vibration with whatever you wish for, it will not manifest into your life. You must always expect to receive and never doubt for a single moment that you will get that which you desire. Your wishes must be fueled by desire and also expectation. By focusing our attention and genuinely desire something it will be given. All you have to do is put yourself in a total state of receiving and the Laws of Attraction will manifest the object of your wishes into your life.
You must also know that the Laws of Attraction works for the negative things also. If you constantly dwell on negative thoughts you will manifest those things into you life. If you expect the worst the universe will give that to you. It is not possible to be positive all the time; the best we can hope for is to give less emotion to the negative thoughts that arise. Accept the negative for what it is and then let it go. Be grateful for all you have in your life and try to live with love in your heart. This will allow the positive vibrations of peace and harmony to dominate your mind and soul and negate the control your negative thoughts have on creating your reality.
It is very important to try and maintain a high level of joy and harmony with your true divine nature and accordingly there is absolutely nothing that you can not have or do.

Law of Attraction – Creating Prosperity Consciousness

Ask yourself the following question and see what comes up for you: What if I always have more than enough of everything I need? Allow yourself to get into a frame of mind where you can actually experience what it feels like to have enough of everything. Doesn’t it feel marvelous?
The whole topic of adopting an abundant mindset came up during a recent phone conversation with one of my regular coaching clients. Katherine (not her real name) and I were discussing the importance of exercise in facilitating weight loss.
Katherine understood the importance of adhering to a strict exercise regimen as part of a healthy weight loss program, having gained and lost eighty pounds twice in her lifetime But every time something out of the norm showed up in her life (a new guy, a new project at work, a spur-of-the-moment weekend vacation) her exercise routine went out the window.
Having gained back thirty of the eighty pounds she had recently lost in the past six months, I speculated that Katherine might be holding onto a deep-seated false belief about herself that was sabotaging her best efforts. I asked her what she tells herself (her mantra) when something gets in the way of her regular eating and exercise routine for more than a day or two.
She told me that when her life becomes more hectic she simply doesn’t have enough time or energy some days to eat healthy and go to the gym. One slip up turns into another slip up which turns into a landslide of beating herself up, eating large quantities of calorie laden food, and avoiding the gym.
In order to help Katherine break free from her story, I encouraged her to turn her negative thinking around and rephrase it in a way that would support her highest good instead of tear her apart. She mentioned that a friend of hers was fond of saying that he always has more than enough of everything he needs, and she wants to adopt his philosophy.
How perfect, I thought. What a powerful mantra. Imagine what would happen if Katherine consistently told herself “I always have more than enough time and energy to eat healthy and go to the gym.” This is exactly the kind of shift in thinking that is required to turn a negative thought pattern into a positive way of being. She was ecstatic. I was inspired!
Having discovered the false belief that was driving her self-sabotaging pattern of weight loss and weight gain, Katherine finally had the information she needed to turn her life around and support herself more fully. Now, instead of telling herself she doesn’t have enough time or energy to eat right and hit the gym regularly she makes time for both, no matter what is happening in her life.

Law of Attraction – Simplified

People are using the law of attraction all of the time through out the day and do not even realize it. They think that it needs to be such a concentrated effort, yet everyone does it everyday just like we eat, breathe and walk. Your mind and body are involved with the “Law of Attraction” on an every day basis, without being told.
This is how people think that it needs to be done. You must find a comfortable place, keep the kids quite and have some alone time creating your future. You sit in the room struggling to form a picture in your mind, get frustrated, try a few more times, mind starts wondering to the laundry and what you are making for dinner. Wow – that was a chore! Try it again later in the week. More laundry and grocery shopping, this is a waste of time, forget about it, and go back to real life.
What you need to pay attention to is what are you thinking about while you are driving in the car, waiting for a doctor appointment, lying in bed trying to fall asleep. When you were a kid you would think about the new bike you wanted, where you would like to live when you grow up. Daydreaming about fun things, because you did not have any responsibilities that would side track your mind. Find the inner child in you – when you are driving to work or to pick up the kids, use this time more wisely. Do not spend this “zone out” time worrying about bills, or the car, or how bad you do not want to go to the grocery store. Then get frustrated when you get an unexpected bill because the car gets a flat tire, and the grocery clerk was rude!
Here is a simplified plan:
1) Realize that you have a lot of “zone out” time through out the day. Driving is a huge one, falling asleep, waiting for people or appointments.
2) Use this “zone out” time and replace it with “daydreaming”. This has a nice feel to it when ever anyone thinks about daydreaming it is a fun thing.
3) Daydreaming should consist of how you would love your life to be and what it would feel like to be living that life. Like being at a job you love, living in a different area of the city or country, getting a new car, going on a vacation. It can be anything that makes you feel GOOD!
4) The key to great daydreaming is we allow ourselves to get lost in the feeling of being at a certain place in our life, or the excitement of purchasing something we only “dream” about. This feeling is a big trigger for the “Law of Attraction”, in the same way that panic is because we consistently feel like we do not make enough money to cover the bills. I do not know about you but I am willing to gamble on the trip, simple because if that happens – I know that I had enough money to cover the bills!
5) If you do have worries come into your mind at this time, replace the worry with a scenario in your head of how you want it to be resolved. Only solutions are allowed in your “zone out” time.
6) Also very important, recognize and acknowledge what you have created in the past and in the future. If you need new tires and immediately catch yourself worrying that it is going to be way more than you can afford, shift your focus to daydreaming that you get to the tire store and there is a sale on affordable tires. Remember this is daydream time, so do not question if this is going to work, just lose yourself stress relief and the great feeling of the daydreaming itself. If the next thing you know you are at the store staring at the affordable tires – take a moment to acknowledge what a good job you did. This gives you more and more control over the “Law of Attraction” in your life each time you just take a small moment to be proud of how you solved a problem.
People spend way too much precious daydreaming time wasted on everyday issues that get handled whether you think about it while driving or not. Let’s face it dinner will still get made, laundry will still get done, and the car will still get fixed. So, if you replace this time with daydreaming, you will be a much happier person, you will notice that your mood will be lighter and you will begin to attract more positive things into your life. Moods are contagious, so your family and co-workers will thank you for this. Life will feel easier, because I am sure that in your daydreaming time life is more enjoyable, every day is not such a chore. Also, problems that do arise will be solved much quicker and will not feel as hard to conquer.

The Law of Attraction and Love

The Law of Attraction says that ‘like attracts like’. It means that whatever your predominate thoughts are will show up as people and experiences in your life. I used to get really angry with this idea. The people in my life were not the kind of people I wanted. The experiences in my life were not the experiences I wanted! Why couldn’t I seem to get this attraction thing to work for me? Why couldn’t I make things come out differently? What was wrong with me?
I hear the same thing from many of my clients. “What is wrong with me?” they ask, when the woman they are interested in does not show the same interest in them. Another client asked “Am I just stupid?” when she failed to see that the man she was dating was a closet alcoholic. “I feel like a failure.” Another client confided after another relationship that didn’t turn out the way he had planned.
But the Law of Attraction works perfectly every time. It can work for or against you. Just like gravity. It can work for you to keep you from spinning off the planet, or against you if you lean too far over the edge of a cliff! But the Law of Attraction works through your thoughts and most importantly through the predominate thought you think most of the time. So if your predominate thought is that relationships are a lot of work, then you will attract partners and situations that are a lot of work. If your predominate thought is that all the good ones are taken, then you will tend to meet people you like and could be interested in, who are already in a relationship with someone else. If your predominate thought is that women are only after your money and you worry about having enough, then you will meet women who worry about money too.
So begin to direct your thoughts toward what you want. How do you do this? First realize at your core you are a creative being. You have the power to expand the knowledge and experiences on this planet simply because of your unique perspective. So why not direct that creative power that is yours toward what you want? Start by noticing what makes you feel GREAT! Notice when you feel energized! Notice what settings or circumstances you are in. Notice what kinds of people make you feel joyful and loved. Make of list of all of these. And begin to look for ways that you can be that kind of person yourself.
For example if you are energized by hiking in the mountains or spending time at the seashore and you feel a sense of awe and excitement when you are in nature, make note of that. Then declare, “I am a magnet for a partner who loves nature as much as I do and is looking for a woman like me to enjoy it with.” As you declare this, out loud with enthusiasm, you are setting powerful creative energies in motion. You are igniting the Law of Attraction! That is the first step.
The second step is to know and accept that the Law will work and produce what you give your attention to. So if within your wanting to find that perfect partner you are more focused on the “wanting” and therefore on the fact that you do not have, then that is exactly what will continue to show up for you, more wanting and pinning over the fact that you are once again alone. To change this, begin to experience and visualize what it is like to have the person of your dreams at you side. That’s right, daydream! Vividly pretend! Get the feeling you will have when that person is right there. And accept that just as it takes three hours to drive from Denver to Glenwood Springs, it will take some time for your lover to get to you. So don’t get discouraged. Don’t give up.
Do let go of any sense of “wanting” and instead be joyous and energized by all that you do.
Finally, allow the Law to work for you. Trust that it is working for you. And go out and do things that allow you to feel at your best. Then just keep your eyes open and notice what shows up. Like Tom Hanks in the movie “Castaway”. You never know what the tide will bring.
